Blue lined tote

Meet my market tote bag, big enough for those of us that always need to carry too much stuff when we go out, it's also perfect for filling with goodies at your local shops.
 
This bag is made out of blue buffalo leather for the main body, this is one of my favourite leathers, it is soft and flexible but also incredibly hard wearing and soft to the touch.  The strap is made out of blue vegetable leather so it is strong and hard wearing enough to cope with however much you carry in your bag.
 
Inside it's lined with a shweshwe fabric, shweshwe is a fabric used for traditional clothing in Southern Africa characterised by its geometric patterns.  This is authentic shweshwe (not a cheaper knockoff) produced in the Eastern Cape, using cotton from Zimbabwe and South Africa.  This is fabric I bought on a trip to South Africa many years ago for a quilt I was planning to make (it's still in the planning stages......) but it matched the colour of the leather so well that I just had to use it for a lining. 
 
The bag measures 25cm across by 28cm tall and is 20cm wide.
