Stars and sparkles (blue/silver) - 14 inches
Leather dog collar with a stars hand stamped and hand painted onto the collar. This collar is extra special and has clear crystals dotted in between the stars. The leather is blue with a matching lining on the inside to make sure that the crystals are secure and don't catch your dogs fur or skin, the lining is hand stitched to the top of the collar using matching blue thread.
It measures 36cm/14inches from buckle to the middle hole (there are five holes spaced 2cm/0.75iches apart so there is a bit of leeway), and is 38mm/1.5inches wide, narrowing to 25mm/1inch ends to ensure the buckle is not too bulky. Please measure your dogs neck prior to ordering (I am usually unable to accept returns for the wrong size being ordered).
To measure your dogs neck either measure your dogs current collar from the hole it is currently used of to the buckle turn (the end of the leather at the buckle end) and use that as your measurement. Alternatively use a non stretchy piece of string to measure snuggly around the dogs neck where the collar will sit, you need it to be tight enough to not be dangly or slip over their heads but loose enough so you can fit at least two fingers between the collar and the neck.
All my collars are hand stitched, using saddle stitching, to ensure that they are as strong and long lasting as possible (riveted collars are often not as strong and rivets can corrode and break). Hand stitching, using a technique used to make horse tack for centuries ensures that the stitching is strong enough to hold firm, even when your pup decides to take you for a walk rather than the other way round.
Please take note of the following care instructions though:
My collars are coated with a protective coating which, with normal use, should last a very long time. However they are made out of leather which is a natural substance, and therefore, does need some care.
Try to avoid the collar getting soaked through, salt water is especially the enemy of leather, so maybe pop a different collar on if your having a day out at the seaside! If your pup does decide to take a dip wearing their collar don't panic, take it off as soon as possible (leaving it on to dry will mean the dogs body heat may dry it too quickly), if it has salt water on it rinse it off with lukewarm water, especially around the buckle and the stitching. Gently dry it with a towel and put it flat somewhere not too hot and out of direct sunlight to dry (putting it on a radiator or near the fire will dry it too quick and make it stiff and brittle). Once it is dry it may not be as flexible but with a bit of use it should regain it's suppleness.
If your dog is a scratcher they will make marks in the leather! The collar will stand up to normal, running through the woods type use, but if your dog really likes to have a good itch then maybe take the collar off when they don't need to be wearing it.
If you love this collar but it doesn't fit your dog I am able to recreate it so please get in touch (please be aware that if I recreate a collar there will be slight differences in the placement of the design and crystals, and there may be a difference in the number, colour and size of crystals used.)
As with all my products postage, within the UK, is included with the purchase price, so no suprises at the checkout. Shipping to the US mainland and Canada is £25 for international tracked and signed for.
